Mary Hopkin began her career in 1968 with the worldwide hit 'Those Were The Days'. She spent three intensive years in the
spotlight before starting her family with record producer Tony Visconti.
In 2005 their daughter Jessica founded Mary Hopkin Music to release a wealth of material from the archives: music made with Tony and other music written and recorded by Mary herself.

John Drumbo French from Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band worked with Thompson on two albums along with Fred Frith and Henry Kaiser. Those two French, Frith, Kaiser and Thompson albums led me to this. Also, Richard Thompson taught Hugh Cornwell (of The Stranglers) how to play the bass guitar in a band when they were both at the same school (Emil and The Detectives?). With a career spanning 50 years and playing with two of my heroes (French and Cornwell) Thompson has produced a fascinating EP.

1st time i heard DeathWish, i turned it off. felt rushed, not the Isbell i've come to admire. really grab'd me when i took time to listen on the 2nd try. the writing on these songs stopped me in my tracks more than once. raw talent with just enough polish in the delivery. thankyou Jason + 400 for another keeper
